Here’s a nourishing masala dalia recipe to keep your gut healthy

Hey quinoa, I don’t need ya! Because I have my desi buddy dalia…

Well, all jokes aside but why go fancy when desi works just fine? Yes ladies, let’s not drool over those quinoa salads that are far too high maintenance.

May it be weight loss or trying to eat a clean diet, it’s always best to go simple. And what’s better than good old vegetable dalia!

Here’s how to cook this desi boy

Ingredients
1 cup roasted broken wheat or dalia
1 green chopped chili
1 chopped onion
1 cup bottle guard
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp haldi or turmeric powder
1 tbsp ghee
1 cup chopped carrot
½ cup capsicum
½ cup chopped tomatoes
½ cup green peas
½ cup sweet corn
½ tsp black pepper powder
Juice of 1 lemon
Salt to taste
Pomegranate seeds & coriander leaves for garnishing

Preparation
1. Heat ghee in a pan. Now add mustard seeds and onions. Once onions are golden brown, add green chilies, bottle guard, corns, carrots, capsicum, and peas. Now sauté them.

2. Now add tomatoes. Sprinkle salt, black pepper, and turmeric powder and cover the pan for 3-4 minutes. Remove and mix the veggies well.

3. Add dalia and water. Cover the pan again.

4. Keep stirring and checking up on the dalia. Once cooked, remove the pan from the heat. Add lemon juice and mix it well.

5. Serve it in a plate and garnish it with pomegranate seeds and coriander leaves.
