Haircare can be quite a cumbersome task, especially during seasonal changes. Your hair may start to become dull and frizzy, compelling you to try various methods and products to nurse your hair back to its health. In such cases, a good hair rinse can do just the trick to help you manage your hair.
You can prepare a rinse that is specifically concocted to deal with your specific hair issues. So, if you’ve been dealing with dullness, worry not because we have a hair rinse that you can prepare using only two ingredients — apple cider vinegar and green tea.
Apple cider vinegar is made of apples, subjected to a fermentation process enriching it with live cultures, minerals and acids. Quite often, hair looks dull and frizzy, suggesting an alkaline state or high pH (power/potential of hydrogen) value. Apple cider vinegar has excellent antibacterial and antifungal qualities which directly targets dandruff on the scalp and reduces dullness. In addition, it is mildly acidic in nature and hence, helps restore the natural pH of the scalp which gets directly impacted due to the alkalising baking soda.
On the other hand, green tea contains epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) which nourishes your tresses. It also has conditioning properties that can add a healthy radiance to your hair, reduce dullness, and boost scalp health.
So, all set to make this hair rinse?
Step 1: Heat one cup of water and add a green tea bag to it, allowing this mixture to brew. If you have loose green tea leaves, use one teaspoon. Brew it for 5-10 minutes.
Step 2: Add apple cider vinegar to the brewed green tea. Your hair rinse is ready!
-To apply, remember to use this cleanser after shampooing, gently massaging into hair and scalp and let sit for a couple of minutes.
-When applying, start from the roots and then, along the length of your hair. Wait for 10-15 minutes before washing it out.
-Try to use old shampoo bottles or any squeezable bottle to have more control as you apply the cleanser throughout the scalp.
If you wash your hair regularly and don’t typically have dry strands or scalp, ensure to rinse only once or twice a week.
